Eric Fitts was raised in a family that values education. He believes that education “…is in my blood line. From my grandparents to my parents, education is what we have enjoyed, experienced, and used as a way for providing for our families.”

Mr. Fitts has stable educational experiences that make him a great administrator.

He earned his B.S. in Elementary Education from South Carolina State University and his Masters in Educational Administration from the University of South Carolina. He is currently enrolled at East Carolina University in the Education Specialist program in Administration. Mr. Fitts spent two years in the classroom working with gifted and talented students with a program called ALERT, which is a federally funded program. The other three years, he taught classes in the third, fourth and fifth grades respectively.  He also participated as a varsity assistant basketball coach for a high school program, becoming the head coach for the 9th grade, as well as Athletic Director.

Having steadfast ambition, Mr. Fitts became Assistant Principal in Orangeburg, SC. He sees working in education as his gift. “I enjoy the teaching and learning that takes place, and to see the growth in students; whether it is academically or socially is a wonderful reward in life.”

Now serving as Assistant Principal at Wendell Middle, Mr. Fitts is a favorite of our student body. He really enjoys working at Wendell Middle too. “WMS is a great place to be, as I love the community and students in which we serve. It is an honor to work and collaborate with such a caring and supportive environment. The students at Wendell Middle are great and have an enthusiastic attitude and thirst to learn and grow as positive and productive citizens.”
